Breweries I love: Canterbury Brewers at The Foundry

Canterbury Brewers at The Foundry Brewpub Canterbury, Kent, UK

The Foundry is the only brewpub within the city walls of Canterbury today and tis little gem is not to be missed if you are in the area. The hubs and I have lived in and around Canterbury for 5 years now and The Foundry is one of our go-to spots. The beer is delicious and reliable, the food is also good and you are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere.

My personal favourite beer from Canterbury Brewers is Itzamna an imperial porter brewed with cacao nibs and Madagascan vanilla pods. It is so smooth and deceptively easy drinking.

John and Paul are also instrumental is getting the Green Hop beer festival going every year, which is my fave time of year! Not too long ago we thought we might lose the Foundry as the company that owned the building went out of business and it was sold. The guys found another suitable building literally a minute down the road, but there were questions around the licensing and our beloved brewpub almost didn't get to reopen. But all of us stalwart fans rallied around and wrote to the council with our support, reminding them how professional and essential the business was to the community.

The Foundry reopened, bigger and better than ever and we wouldn't have it any other way! Pop to Canterbury to see what I'm talking about!
