Hops: Nelson Sauvin

Nelson Sauvin is a New World hop variety from New Zealand and has only been around since 2000. It is named after the region in New Zealand where it is grown and the Sauvignon Blanc grape. It is considered a perfect summer time hop.

Nelson Sauvin imparts strong fruit aromas and tropical fruit flavours with some peppery notes. Think crushed wine grapes, tangerine and grapefruit. People often equate it with a white wine fruitness when they taste beers containing it. The hop has been used by brewers in both traditional and experimental styles.
