Breweries I love: Goody Ales

Goody Ales, Herne, Kent, UK

Goody Ales is a small local brewery out in the country in Herne, Kent. They brew only with Maris Otter malt and Kentish hops for truly local beer.

I've drunk many of their beers at local beer festivals and was lucky enough to visit the brewery in 2017 on the Green Hop Beer Festival Tour. Their aesthetic takes a religious turn - their taproom is called the Cathedral and you can check out their Ten Commandments for drinking Goody Ale on their website.

My personal favourite of theirs is Dead Good - the label depicts horse skulls and Morris dancing, which appeals a bit more to the pagan in me. Their winter warmer Good King Wenceslas is also gorgeous, full of spices and sweet malts.

For traditional Kentish beers, Goody Ales are good!
