Hops: East Kent Goldings

I'm starting my series about hops with East Kent Goldings because live in East Kent.

These beauts literally grow in fields down the road from me and get brewed in beers made by my local brewers. East Kent Goldings give off herbal, sweet grass and hay aromas to me. They are a subtle hop that I have used in stouts, saisons and classic English pale ales. They are considered an aroma hop and are suggested for use for bittering and late hopping.

Beers to try:

Gadd's East Kent India Pale Ale

Meantime Pale Ale

Harviestoun Old Engine Oil
