Hops: Centennial

Centennial is one of the C hops - those hops you find crammed into all the big American beers full of citrus, resin and pine and that blow your head off! To me, Centennial brings grass, citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavours.

I've used it mainly as a bittering hop but also to add citrus notes to the aroma at the end of the boil. Classically, Centennial is a duel purpose hop, which means you can use it to add bitterness and aroma equally well.

The hop is known to add Pine, citrus and floral notes to beers and is considered to be more bitter than Cascade.
