Book Recommendation: Tasting Beer by Randy Mosher

Recommended beer books: Tasting Beer by Randy Mosher

If you only buy and read one beer book this should be the one. I mean, I recommend you read ALL the beer books obvs, but this is the one everyone recommends. It's the book Cicerone recommends for all of their courses and most beer geeks who are into books will tell you to read it too.

This isn't just because it is packed full of great info (it is, and the updated version even more so), it's also because Mosher's writing style is very accessible. He pops in personal anecdotes and recommendations that keep you reading. This book takes you through brewing beer, the history of beer, beer culture, beer glassware, serving beer, beer judging, paring food with beer as well as tasting it. I read this back in 2012 for fun (I'm THAT beer geek!) and then I got it on audiobook to 're-read' while studying for my Certified Beer Server.

I'll probably read it again for Certified Cicerone as well. It's the kind of book that you can read again and again and you will find more tidbits of info you missed or overlooked last time. Like my Melissa Cole book this has tabs in it for the bits I'm going back to and it's a bit dog-eared from the times I've thumbed through for info. It's that good! Get it on your shelf!!
