Breweries I Love: Wild Beer Co

Wild Beer Co

Westcombe, Somerset, UK

I've been drinking Wild Beer Co for a few years now and always find something new and delicious. They are a true farmhouse brewery on a site with Westcombe Dairy who make cheeses next door that pair brilliantly with the beer.

Wild Beer Co have a 'barrel library' of 600 barrels including wine, whisky, sherry, rum, port, tequila and brandy as well as a coolship. They blend their beers to get the best tasting brews so you will get different vintages each year. My favourite beer of theirs is Millionaire - possibly my favourite stout ever due to it's rich chocolate and caramel notes. They have also recently put out their Wild IPA - a mixed fermentation IPA that uses Talus hops, the newest commercial hop available. If you haven’t tried a Talus hopped beer yet I highly recommend this one!

I was particularly impressed with the efforts Wild Beer Co went to during the lockdown here in the UK. They put on several beer tasting events live on Facebook and also produced their beer and cheese festival as a virtual event (which happened to fall on my wedding anniversary, so we celebrated with some excellent cheese and beers!)

If you haven't had the pleasure of trying anything from Wild Beer Co, where have you been?!

Check out their website here.

If you want to find out more about interesting styles of beer, like those made by Wild Beer Co, why not join my beer membership The Beer Tent Society. Each month we look at a different style in detail and have a live tasting together to explore it. You can join us to look at Saisons here
