Episode 168 - Session Stouts
Stouts – for some they are a seasonal indulgence and others they are an all year round affair. But often you will hear in the craft beer community cries of ‘it’s too thin!’ or ‘this would be better if it was barrel aged!’ We are here to challenge this misinformation – session stouts are a thing and they can be just as flavourful as your 15% syrup thick beers!
There is always a time and place for imperial stouts, but what about your oatmeal, dry irish, milk and export stouts? We try 4 different stouts all under 5.5% and see if we can get the same luxurious experience we would get with an imperial (spoiler – we do!)
